Terms of service
The agreement between you and optimAIzr for use of the optimAIzr service. Using the service means accepting it. It is written to be read.
What the service is
optimAIzr reads your AI usage and cost data, analyses it, and proposes changes that would reduce your spend, each with the arithmetic behind it. There is a command-line tool that runs entirely on your own machine, and a hosted service that does the same analysis against data you connect.
The command-line tool is published on npm under the MIT licence. It is free and has no usage limit. The hosted service is what these terms are mostly about.
What a recommendation is, and is not
A projected saving is an estimate, not a promise, and never financial advice. Every figure optimAIzr shows is computed from your own observed traffic under stated assumptions. Your traffic will change. Provider prices will change. A model that matched your quality bar on last month’s prompts may not match it on next month’s.
This is why every finding carries its arithmetic and a verification status rather than a single confident number. A finding marked as needing verification has not yet been tested against your traffic, and you should test it before acting on it.
You decide what to change in your own systems. optimAIzr does not modify your application, does not reroute your traffic, and never has write access to your provider account. Acting on a recommendation is your decision, and the consequences of that change, including changes in output quality, latency, or cost, are yours.
Your account
You need an account for the hosted service, and you must give accurate information when you create one. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything done by people you invite to your organization. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been accessed without your authorisation.
You must be entitled to connect the provider accounts you connect, and to share the usage data you share. If you are acting for an organization, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to access another customer’s data, or probe the service for a way to do so, other than through our disclosure process
- resell or white-label the hosted service without a written agreement. The MIT-licensed npm package you may of course build on
- upload credentials you are not entitled to use, or use the service to process data you are legally barred from sending to a processor
- interfere with the service’s operation, or place load on it designed to degrade it for others
If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, report it rather than exploit it. Good-faith research reported responsibly will not be met with legal action.
What stays yours
Your usage data, your prompts if you enable capture, and your provider credentials remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store, process and display that data back to you, and to compute recommendations from it.
We do not use your data to train models, and we do not sell it. What we store and for how long is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Plans and billing
optimAIzr is free. The command-line tool is MIT-licensed and always will be, and the hosted service is not open yet. There is no paid plan, no subscription, and nothing here takes a card.
If a paid tier is ever introduced, it will not apply retroactively and it will not be switched on under an existing account without at least 30 days’ notice and an explicit opt-in. The command-line tool stays free regardless.
Availability
We work to keep the hosted service available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can, but we do not offer a service level agreement or an uptime guarantee at this tier. The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
The command-line tool runs on your machine and keeps working regardless of the hosted service’s state, which is deliberate.
Limits of liability
To the extent the law allows, optimAIzr is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, or for any cost increase, quality regression or business interruption arising from a change you made after reading a recommendation.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred dollars, whichever is greater. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Ending it
You may stop using the service and delete your organization at any time; deletion cascades through your projects, usage, connections, recommendations, reports and audit events. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it. We will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data first, except where the breach makes that unsafe.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give notice to account holders before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the revision; if you do not, cancel.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the courts of the operator's registered jurisdiction, and disputes go there. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
